My Community. My Impact.
Mandy Curia has been selected to serve as co-chair of the 2016 campaign alongside Sam Ramirez, whom is in his second year serving as campaign co-chair.
Mandy grew up in Dixon, graduated from Newman High School and Iowa State University. Most recently, she lived in Minnesota where she was employed by the Greater Twin Cities United Way and worked on their campaigns as a development associate. Three months ago she decided to plant her roots back in Dixon, where she is employed as a Customer Service Manager for Ken Nelson Auto Group.
Sam Ramirez also graduated from Newman High School and is a graduate of Sauk Valley Community College and Northern Illinois University. He is the Sports Director for NRG Media Dixon where he’s been employed for 22 years. Ramirez lives with wife, Carie, a teacher at Washington School in Dixon. He’s served on the United Way board for the past 6 years and has held various positions on the campaign.
Although donations and support are encouraged throughout the year, the 2016 “My Community. My Impact.” campaign officially kicked off on Saturday, September 24, 2016 with our first ever 5K race/walk community event and will run through March 31, 2017.
